Space needed ASAP in your West Seattle restaurant/bakery

  1. Hello Lovely People of West Seattle.

I am starting a small, delicious confection company right here in West Seattle and I need a large mixer and some space to work/store and package. I am nice, responsible, hardworking, flexible and really just a joy to be around. I will pay you for allowing me to use your space in actual money and in candy. If you are under-utilizing your space please let me know. Thank you!

There is a commercial kitchen on delridge (5608 I think) that leases space on a monthly basis. The advantage is that you get your own rack to keep your ingredients, and they have everything you need...mixers, ovens, stuff like that. And because it has been approved, you can legally sell food made there. I don't have the #, but was looking into starting a catering business a while back and found it by typing "commercial kitchen space" on the rental section of craigslist. good luck!

Good points breanna, for retail sales the kitchen needs to be health dept., and maybe even FDA approved(?). One possible alternative if you have trouble locating that type of kitchen space would be to find a restaurant with that underutilized kitchen (overnight when closed) that would be interested in selling your confections on sight, but give them separate billing on the menu (I.E.: desserts made exclusively for us by [your name here]). This could solve your second big issue after finding a kitchen, finding your first retail outlet.

Just some ideas. My knowledge is admittedly peripheral, so contact the authorities before going too far.

  4. I may be very wrong on this, but I seem to remember a conversation with a Cafe Ladro employee in west seattle about them having a lot of space in the back of house that used to be some sort of bakery. You may want to check with them. Best of luck!
