Where in West Seattle can we find a good soft serve ice cream cone (chocolate / vanilla swirl)?

Technically WC, but Dairy Queen still does soft swirl. Combo ch/van? Probably, but don't hold me to it. :)

check at Uptown Espresso near the Junction. I'm pretty sure they do soft serve swirls.

  4. Tullys on Alki has soft serve swirls. But it might be coffee/vanilla.

I do think DQ does the swirl, but even better, the chocolate dip! Brings back childhood memories of trying really hard to eat all of the yummy shell before dripping ice cream in the car, which apparantly was a special talent of mine :)

  6. Now you guys have me thinking back to my NY Carvel memories, but it's kinda far to drive to Reno for it (closest one). And I don't suppose a Mister Softee truck will be coming down the street anytime soon with soft serve. The only 2 good memories I think I have of a hot, humid NYC summer!

I wish we had a TCBY around here. My dad with a serious sweet tooth used to drive us there almost every night after dinner. White chocolate mousse with cherries, num num num!

YES! Ditto the wish for TCBY. There's one by Alderwood Mall. Their flavors are so delish.

Emmy Jane, I use to work at a TCBY and white chocolate mousse was a favorite at our store. When ever it was posted I had crowds.

    TCBY still exists?
I love Red Mango for *real* frozen yogurt... mmm. Actually, I prefer Pinkberry, but I only get to have that when I'm down in California. Both are good, but Pinkberry has a delicious dark chocolate flavor.

Still, an original Red Mango frozen yogurt topped with blackberries and raspberries, please! Or pomegranate w/ dark chocolate chips... or Pinkberry chocolate topped with coconut flakes and toasted almond slices...

  11. Sarah, the closest one is in Bellevue. Others in Federal Way, Shoreline and Lynnwood. tcby.com

Sue, I actually went to their website to check on it, and immediately had to leave because I was so embarrassed on TCBY's behalf. It looks like they're desperately trying to keep the brand current, which apparently involves covering the walls of their stores with text-speak: "LOL," "BRB," "BFF"; I hope they realize this is meaningless and already dates their stores back to 2002.
I'm not knocking their product; I've honestly never had it in my life. But if that's the company's best effort at competing against the Red Mango and Pinkberry chains, well... good luck to them!

  13. I was only looking at the locator - I didn't notice the LOLspeak - that is pretty pathetic. I had TCBY once, and ended up in the hospital over it! I don't know what ended up in my yogurt, but I had one heck of an anaphylactic reaction to it, which was weird since every ingredient in what I ate I have no allergies to whatsoever. I've never been able to bring myself to try it again. (I suspect it was some foreign substance that contaminated the cup it was served in - at least that's what management and I determined at the time since it was so odd.)

I don't know if McDonald's has chocolate to swirl, but they have a vanilla cone that you can get dipped in chocolate.

  15. Costco for the swirl! (And I'm pretty sure it's a Red Mango in U Village and maybe one in Park Place mall downtown).

Well, if you're talkin' Red Mango, then I feel compelled to mention the other "best" Fro-Yo "Utopia" in the Uwajimaya Food Court.

Yes, I know. I'm always pimping them. But they need to open up a shop around the peninsula SOMEWHERE. And soon. :)

Try the avocado if they have it. Every flavor is stellar, however. They use Greek yogurt...nuff said.

Ooh, sounds great, WSD! Thanks for the tip! I love that *real* frozen yogurt has been the trend the last couple years. What a concept to use actual yogurt in the stuff. ;-)
