Yarn bombing is cool... until the yarn starts to rot. I wish people would go back and remove their yarn projects.

RG...where is this yarn art you're talking about?
Posted 3 months ago # -
Admiral Lookout.

If it bothers you, next time you go bring a pair of scissors and a bag. ;-)
Posted 3 months ago # -
Um, the point is the OP shouldn't have to. People who create something which turns into a mess should be the ones cleaning it up.
Posted 3 months ago # -
I agree that they shouldn't have to clean it up and that the yarn bomber should do it. However, I am saying that if it bothers the OP enough to post here that there is an easy way to fix it.

I drive by there every day and still enjoy seeing this yarnbomb (although it is starting to look a bit aged). I would be happy to spend the minute and a half it would take to remove if that is the general consensus of the posters here but it's really not my call. It will magically disappear over the weekend if Yarncore agrees it's time to go. . . .

Crap, I thought the Admiral Lookout stuff got taken down. I'll take it down. Sorry folks.
Posted 3 months ago # -
(Seriously, I really thought someone else took it down or I would have done it ages ago. Also, the one in the junction will be replaced soon. Sorry, life got in the way!)

One more thing - I have a website with contact information on it, you know. And my site has been linked on the blog many times. If you have an issue, take it up with ME. Why are people on this forum SO CRANKY? I don't come here often because it makes me feel so awful about West Seattle.
Posted 3 months ago # -
Not everyone is cranky. You need to weed through the whiners and trolls (not that I'm calling any individual a whiner or a troll - heaven forbid). Don't take it personally. Yarnbomb away!
Posted 3 months ago # -
Whine . . . your pachyderm crapped in my garden again last night.
(Please thank him for me.)

But I am SO zen these days, and even trying to weed through the whiners and trolls gives me a panic attack.
Oh hey, 2MW? Did you bring the bloody mary basket to the feedback thing? The person who got it said that the smirnoff bloody mix was the greatest she'd ever had and can't find it anywhere.

I did not intend to offend anyone with my post and I didn't know it would be taken so personally. I would totally take the yarn down but come on, I'm not going to stop and get off the bus to go take it down and then stand and wait for the next bus on my route to come by.
Posted 3 months ago # -
hey yarncore, that was me. Bloody Mary mix was purchased at Thriftway, I believe. If it wasn't T-way it was the liquor store in Westwood Village. I can't recall, but I am pretty sure those were the only two places I went to pick up goodies for the basket.

RG, you didn't come across as cranky. You even complimented the yard bombs - I think they're cool, too! Your request was perfectly reasonable (though it would be amazing to have someone leap out of the bus, scissors in hand, like a superhero!), and yarncore's response was also perfectly reasonable. So, time for one and all to cool it with a nice Bloody Mary!

bloody mary..yummmm !
Posted 3 months ago # -
yarncore, could it be that not everyone on this blog knows you? I've never seen your links, and had no idea you were responsible for WS yarnbombs.
Mostly I think that yarnbombs are cool, but they're really, really bad for trees. They should be placed on inanimate objects - unless the living object in question is able to give consent...
Posted 3 months ago # -
No quirky, unique gesture or suggestion goes uncrabbed-about. I feel you yarncore, it makes me feel really icky too. Let it go, people. Point made - yarncore isn't out to put out an eyesore and clearly knows the importance of taking it down. After her comment is the "C'mon I'm not getting of the bus to take it down" comment really necessary?
Keep West Seattle Weird (and Yarny)!

Mmm... a Bloody Mary sounds good right now, I want in on that action!
If you see a woman riding the 56 bus with a celery stalk sticking out of her plastic Starbucks tumbler and trying to work intarsia that's me. Because, neighbors don't let neighbors knit and drive.

I'm with anonyme on this one and I'd also like to add that you shouldn't knit kittens into trees because they might not be able to play with lasers or drink milk and they might die. While we are at it don't ever knit covers onto a helicopter blade because it could throw off the balance and cause it to crash. Never, ever knit pieces of pepperoni and sneak them onto a pizza, it could cause someone to choke.
