Met the mother of a teen girl and boy yesterday and when asked what needs she had: size 12 boots for the 18 year old boy. We've seen him working in camp hauling wood and spreading chips, so he could use them. Any lying around unused?
She works and is relatively new in camp. Sweet lady. Thanks

  3. Hi Munchkin22-do you work/volunteer at the camp? If so, do you think you could help me out? I tried to make a plan for the 2 families with young children to get out of the snow for the day, I talked to someone on the phone and I emailed but I didn't hear back from anyone. -I understand there is a woman with 5 children and she is also pregnant? I can't do anything now as I'm having some dental procedures tomorrow but next week I would love to connect with them to see what I can do to help/support/give respite to this family. What do you think is the best way to go about doing that?

We usually bring firewood and whatever else we find that we feel or have been told the camp can use. Lately we've been asking if donors need things delivered due to the weather. The large family was out of camp for some time a while back on what we believe were motel vouchers. The family with the 10 mo old received some funds to enable them to leave the camp, but as of Weds they were still there. The single mom with the 12 yr old was still there as well as the single mom with the 2 teenagers. Probably the best way to arrange what you are speaking of is to show up at the security tent and ask about the families and request to speak with them. There are always appointments and such that the NVers must go to as do the rest of us so timing is key. If you need more help than this, post your contact info and we'll talk off the blog to preserve everyone's privacy. If we get to camp today and see the families we can ask them how they would feel about the prospect.

CSWS: We talked to the mom with the 12 year old and she'd be thrilled to spend a day away from camp and also the father of the 10 month old also said they would be interested. If you e mail JoB I will too with the names of the mom and father of the 2 respective families so you would know who to ask for at security.

  7. Hey JoB-what is that email again? This one doesn't go? I am at cswsatcomcast.net
But I would love to have them tomorrow-after 10? Can they get up the hill now, I am on 22nd and Roxbury. If there is a car seat for the baby I could pick them up too.

  11. I am headed to school now-if there is a way to let them know that-I think I saw a site cell phone, I might even just pop right down there and introduce myself. Yeah, I'll do that. Thanks for connecting me.
