In my mind, it's worth signing. One of the options is to declare Eminent Domain on properties across the street from Lowman Park. Boy, when a government starts talking about that, it should really get the attention of folks. And, secondly, the likelihood of having the park completely lost (including the 100+ year old sycamores) to surface utility equipment is probable.
As I heard someone say about this issue, the citizens of Seattle voted on the Pro Parks Levy, asserting their willingness to be taxed for the preservation and acquisition of parks. Is THIS proposal aligned with that objective? I don't think so. So, I signed the petition.
CSO improvements are necessary to protect the Sound. My objection is not to the CSO's themselves. It is the proposed siting of them. There has GOT to be an option which doesn't destroy one of our parks.
