Are there any community service projects happening tomorrow that my daughter (6) and I could join in?
My apologies if there is a list somewhere on the blog that I didn't manage to find...

I took my kids to Safeway yesterday morning where they purchased (with their own money) food and paper towels to bring to Nickelsville. While it wasn't a lot of money or a lot of time spent, that became part of the point - costs very little to help. While there we were welcomed warmly and offered a tour (which didn't actually happen - there are only a few who do the tours and no one was available) but the message that they already know came across clearly - these are people, they need some help, this could happen to anyone. Even though your daughter is only 6, it could be an easy project and valuable message to convey!
DBurns..
when i was at Nickelsville today
the residents were still talking about your kids...
Your intent may have been to teach the kids a valuable lesson.. but you brought big smiles to the faces of Nickelsvile...
it is easy to forget how much the gesture behind the donations matters to people who are struggling.
Wow - thank you so much, JoB!! I'm teary as I read that to my family. This is exactly what I'm talking about. We are making this a part of out weekly "chores" - adding hose water to the list! :)
