Official Scrabble Meetup groups gather in Bothell and U District coffee houses monthly. Are any Scrabble lovers in West Seattle interested in forming a regular monthly meetup?

Scrabble players would be very welcome at next Sunday's Game Afternoon at Southwest Branch Library! (1--4:30 pm.)

Julie, Thanks for letting me know! Is this a weekly thing?

Friends of Southwest Library has sponsored 2 board game afternoons in the past 2 months. The one this Sunday is the last of our "trial run". Whether we continue the game afternoons depends partly on how much interest there is. The last two have been very lightly attended; this may be the times we selected, or the busy-ness of the season, or we failed to get the word out adequately. (Or maybe there's just not enough interest in board games. I think this would be sad....) If you'd like them to continue, please let us know! If you'd like us to host more of them, but have a different time or day to suggest, please let us know!

Hey Julie, does the SWL board game party allow coffee while playing? That would be cool!
The MIL and I have been meeting for occasional rainy weekend Scrabble at Cafe Rozella for years now. She likes taking *two hours* to finish a game so she can keep the coffee flowing and try as many tasty new pastries as possible!
We tried some other Westside and Burien coffee places but always come back to Rozella because they are actually Feisty-84-Year-Old-Scrabble-Lady friendly there. We bring our own board, Scrabble Dictionary, paper and pen.
Our next Scrabble date there is Sunday 1/31 11am - 3pm. Stop by and draw your tiles! :D

Hi Joan.
Thanks for the info about the regular meeting in White Center! I will post here if a new group gets formed near the Admiral district. In the meantime, how can I learn if a game is on for any particular Sunday at Cafe Rozella? Myr-myrPosted 2 years ago # -
Hmmm... you might have to stop by the cafe to see if anyone is playing, or even better, announce an invitation. :D
We average playing once a month out in a cafe but which weekend is always a guess since my schedule changes so much every week. (this coming weekend I'm booked, rats!)

Mother-in-law is all excited now about the 11am - 3pm 1/31 date at the Cafe Rozella when I told her other Scrabblers might show up and play!
I will buy the first latte and carrot cake for whoever wants to try beating her. :D
Mmmmm... carrot cake!

I'd be interested.

I can't make the 31st but I would love to make another day to play scrabble. I also have a board if we wanted to expand and have two games going at once.

Way cool, IYL! We're looking next at a long Sunday in February, most probably 2/28, and an extra board of players Scrabbling is GREAT!

My husband and I are both board game fans. How did Scabble at the Library turn out this time? Is it something you will be continuing? We would be interested in playing Scabble and we also love Euro-games like Settlers of Catan and Ticket to Ride, to name a few. We would be very interested in getting together a board game group to meet at the library (South Point branch?) if any one else is game (no pun intended.)

On Sunday, I put "zen," on one triple word score, and then played "zoo," using zen's z. Two really easy words ended up snagging me a lot of points for the easy win.
