Safeway closing, where will you shop?

  1. For those of you who shop at the Admiral Safeway, where do you plan to do your shopping once they close?

  5. I feel bad for the people who live right there, and may have purposely moved there to be within walking distance of a supermarket, and who will not have access to it for almost a year. Sure, there's Met Market, but the prices and quantity of items hardly compare to Safeway if you're used to shopping for bargains.

I don't shop there, but I do use the BECU ATM and will definitely miss that. I don't live far from the one near Thriftway, but I will miss this one since it doesn't need envelopes for deposits. Guess I'll have to walk to the one downtown on my lunch hour if I need to make deposits.

  7. I live directly across the street on the east side of Safeway. It's my second refrigerator....I'm sure I'll be going through withdrawals for some time. I will divide my shopping among Met Mkt., PCC, sometimes go to some stores in Burien with a friend...and learn to love home delivery again :)

I'll be shopping at the new QFC for meat and for their specials, then to Jefferson Square Safeway for some basics, PCC for veggies, bulk items, and vegetarian items and then off to Trader Joe's on Madison weekly for just about everything else.

  9. Since I don't have a car it's Amazon Fresh home delivery for me. I've used this service ever since it started here in WS. 3 years? something like that. Quality food, very convenient delivery times, has NEVER missed an ordered item, much cheaper delivery charge than Safeway.com, free delivery if designated $ amount reached.
Have used Safeway's home delivery and was never happy with it.
AND, Metopolitan Market is my favorite store on the whole planet. I know it's expensive, but they have the best produce, fresh meat, fresh fish, etc. etc. etc.

  14. What and where is winco?

  15. Winco is a warehouse type grocery store. The one we have gone to is in Kent right off of Rte. 167, I think at 212th...
