margaret from vashonParticipantEd Lorah’s spirited GoFundMe account to raise money toward the rehabilitation of our community Hospice nurse, Sarah, who was the victim of a horrible hit-and-run while out jogging a month ago has passed the half-way mark! This is where these things sometimes lag, because friends and family have all stepped forward. Please take a minute to go to the site @ http://www.gofundme.com/3la4po and share it on your own Facebook page, so that the compassionate community widens! It only takes a minute.

we do not live in the land of should
we live in the land of what is
and in the land of what is
ordinary hard working citizens often need help recovering from disaster
denying that reality doesn’t change it

WFMemberjob i simply asked a question because the person responsible for injuring the runner needs to fess up and pay.
there is a law that requires all drivers have insurance (unfortunately the enforcement mechanism is way to weak that results in those that buy insurance to pay an added 20% or so)

Talaki34ParticipantThis post is about raising money for Sarah. Let’s not make it once again about something else. If you want to help Sarah, use the path provided. If not, open another thread so you can discuss whatever is on your minds.

margaret from vashonParticipantHaving had my own life forever altered by the gracious touch of a Hospice Angel, I count the people who do this good work among our Best. That one of them was injured and needs our help to regain her footing is a call we need to heed. Using the power of our social network sites to just spread the word — even if we cannot give money ourselves — is a highly impactful gesture, especially done “in memory of” someone who has been touched by the work of a Hospice worker.

JanSParticipantthank you, Talaki. Yes, if you want to help Sarah, then help. I agree with keeping to the original post. This is a great community. a giving community. I know from experience. Please give, and as margaret from vashon said…if you can’t help monetarily, please spread the word..on facebook, on twitter…any way you can…

margaret from vashonParticipantEd’s effort is, as of this moment on Tuesday evening, just shy of $2,000 from meeting his goal! On one of his recent posts, he said that half of the donors were people that didn’t know Sarah! If you haven’t already done so, take a minute to share the link on your Facebook or Twitter account.
