How sad to die like that and all alone. I really liked him and watched the kung fu tv show when I was young.

  3. OMG this is a first. I learned about a national news story from the forum on my own site. Usually it's Twitter or Facebook but I'm catching up after a REALLY long night. Sad indeed. That's how old my mom would be if she were alive ... she died of cancer 10 years ago today.

  4. so, so sad and yes what a lonely way to go. I loved him in Kung Fu and the Kill Bill movies.

  6. If it had been determined that he died by the five point palm exploding heart technique it would have been easy to find a suspect.

  7. BBC reports he died of AEA (eg. Michael Kelland John Hutchence and "choking-game" participants).

Karl, I cannot even express to you how much I loved Michael and INXS. I remember my dad trying to explain to me how he died--i was still quite young :)

  9. Lucile2: I felt that pain too... The feature film "Slide Away" is about his life and is scheduled for release later this year.

Exactly how many people engage in AEA is unknown, and the practice almost always remains a secret until a person dies accidentally. It's estimated that between 500 and 1000 deaths occur annually in the United States from this.

  10. Karl, if true, just makes this doubly sad...

  11. Well... I'm going to have to drown my sorrows in some Kill Bill. I really liked him... :(

Man the dude went out happy, sure it was kinda dumb, especially in the land of katoi how hard is it to go spend ten dollars for a buddy to make sure you don't die giving yourself a tuggy.

  14. yeah, the article that Karl noted in #13...the first comment tells it all. With all his achievements and fame, what will he be remembered for? an accidental death due to AEA...

  15. and to paraphrase a friend: "Uh..when ya do that kind of behavior, use a spotter'.

don't mean to make light of his passing..but..sheeeeeesh.
