Harry always seemed old...but I didn't think he was 96. Way to go Harry -- you did a good job replacing McLean (who made a career-limiting decision in leaving the show.)
true...McLean never did go on to bigger and better things, did he?
I love MASH and will watch it any time it is on. I love the marathons:)
He lived a good life that is for sure.
Don't forget his role as Detective Bill Gannon on Dragnet, the role that (for me) made him big time.
This goes waaaaaay back, before Det Gannon...there was a sitcom in the early 60's called Pete and Gladys. It starred Harry Morgan and Spring Byington. Does anyone else remember.
Ken Levine is now best known to Seattle residents as a play-by-play announcer for the Mariners, but he also worked as a head writer of the MASH TV series. To read his tribute to Harry Morgan -- plus a separate tribute from Gary Burghoff (Radar on the series) -- visit Levine's daily blog at:

I barely remember Pete & Gladys, Definitely remembeer Dragnet and of course THE Dragnet. I was married in 1956 and got our first tv about 63 or 64. My parents got their first sometime after I got married. Don't remember where Pete & Gladys came in there somewhere. I'll wwatch MASH before any other oldies. Alan Alda must be getting up there in age.
wow...76. As I have birthday after birthday ( and faster and faster, it seems) I forget that others are aging too..sigh...
