For those who may not understand, many a bag of peanuts have been delivered by this man. Hopes and prayers to him and his family.

    From Geoff Baker's Mariners blog:

Some sad news to report tonight. Safeco Field peanut vendor Rick "Peanut Man" Kaminski is said by sources to be in serious condition in Evergreen Hospital after suffering a brain aneurysm. Kaminski, 67, has been a fixture tossing pinpoint throws of peanut bags to fans since the team first began playing in 1977. Our thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family.

Thanks for posting this, I Wonder. Rick is truly an icon of the Seattle scene, and always seems to be enjoying life. Let's hope for a full and swift recovery.

Thanks for the smiles Rick! Yes..he...like Bill "The Beer Man" made the ball park better!

You never missed a customer! Even if you did "miss" the throw...those folks bought the bag...and nobody ever stole the $$ when you had to hand it down through 20+ seats...

Oh no! Terrible news :( My husband and I were pleasantly surprised to see him at the stadium in Peoria during Spring Training. I hope he recovers soon.

    Very sad to hear this.

I haven't been to an M's game since way back in the Kingdome days, but went to several games the first season or two, and remember Rick well.

Condolences to Rick's family, friends, and all of the fans who dearly loved him.

    Mike
