Anyone have any recommendations for a restaurant (prefer WS, but downtown will do if nothing in WS is open) to take an out of town guest to on Xmas eve for dinner? She doesn't like seafood or sushi. :( Also must be somewhat vegetarian friendly (not vegan), but also carnivore friendly. Thanks!

I am publishing the list in the morning - who we know is open on Christmas Eve and (only 2 so far) Christmas Day. Look for it around 8 am provided huge news isn't breaking. So far in the research, looks like a reasonable # of restaurants are open for at least part of Christmas Eve ...

I took my family to Ephesus on Christmas Eve a few years ago. Don't know if they're planning to be open this year but it might be worth a call if that interests you.

Here's the list, version 1.0 (I am sure there will be additions - the list I asked volunteer Suzanne, bless her heart, to call did NOT include all 100+ WS restaurants, but rather a few dozen that seemed most likely).

I will check on Ephesus (or if someone here checks sooner, please advise) - I am not sure if it was on the list I gave her (there also were a few that didn't answer their phones) and I won't get a chance to check the mail archives immediately.

How about some of the restaurants at Alki:
Cactus, Saltys, Duke's Cristo's, Sunfish, spuds, Pegasus, BambooPosted 2 years ago # -
Oops, sorry. I see Pegasus and Salty's in your list.

Epheseus is open 5 - 10 p.m. Call for reservations. :-) Last seating at Cafe Revo is 8, so it will be tight for those of us who are planning to eat after some other event. But they're still taking reservations as well.

Thanks, Charla, will add that to the list.
Also thanks to Rick in home-page comments for pointing out Ho-Win Chinese Restaurant has a sign (I went over to check it out after his comment) saying it's open Christmas Day. Its regular Friday hours are 11 am-10:30 pm. I've added that to the list as well.
Jo, Duke's is in our list too. I didn't check with the fast-food-style places like Sunfish and Spud. As you probably know, Sunfish invariably goes on vacation this time of year (may be gone already) for a few weeks.
Again, thus far, the only ones open Christmas DAY are Feedback w/limited food menu, Thaitan, and Ho-Win.

Sorry, TR, I just skimmed your list and apparently skimmed right over the ones I posted.
Good job, this is great information to have.
I can remember a few Christmases, where at the last minute.we've wanted to go out and didn't know where to even start.Posted 2 years ago #
