oddrealityParticipantNot sure where to start with this problem. Plumbers? Who does this sort of work? We had a piece of concrete that was slowly sinking so dug down and found a leaky pipe that comes from the downstairs toilet and ties in with the main sewer line. We have very recently, like 2 weeks ago, had the main line checked and it was good but the camera could not turn the corner to look at the little section that ties into it from this toilet.
Do we need a sewer expert or who?
Any recommendations??

BofusMemberThat is your side sewer that is leaking. It connects to the sanitary sewer line in the street. In the city of Seattle only contractors with a side sewer license are authorized to conduct side sewer repairs. Best to use a licensed contractor and obtain the necessary permit. We recently used Aces Four and were very happy with their work.

oddrealityParticipantThanks! That’s very helpful. We were not sure if this was considered part of the side sewer or not.We will check into Aces Four and for sure do it right!

sbreParticipanto r~ I’d like to also offer another company should you need, the company I use for my home as well as all my rental properties.
They are serious about doing a thorough and complete job which includes being conscience of making as little impact as possible and priding themselves on a good clean-up.

HomerParticipantAnyone know if there’s a side sewer repair company that doesn’t dig up the whole side sewer pipe but just one hole at the start and one at the end and feeds a new pipe where the old one is? It breaks the old one up as they guide the new pipe through but who cares, that’s the old pipe.
Seems much less invasive…

DianaParticipantI’ve had this work done and I recommend O’Neill Plumbing. http://www.oneillplumbing.com They are problem solvers, are WSB sponsors, local, honest and will do the job right. Highly recommended!

beefParticipantFWIW, you only need Registered Side Sewer Contractor if the scope of your project falls within the public right of way.
here is more on what the city has to say about that. :)

BofusMemberI stand corrected! My repairs were likely chasing to the street so I had to stick with the registered contractor list just to avoid the potential problem of pulling in a second contractor…
