Unemployed, in school, and in desperate need of a haircut! Tried the Gene Juarez training school up north but had an unpleasant experience. Also tried cutting my own hair--not recommended. Thought I'd try one of the "Super" or "Budget" Cuts places if someone can recommend a particularly good stylist. Thanks!

  2. Try Brenda at Supercuts. I am not a person who "styles" my hair but she cut it the way I wanted it.

  3. or try Tram at Budget Cuts on Calif. Ave. at Charlestown. Haircuts are somewhere around 14 bucks....walk in...no appt. necessary (although you may have to wait a few minutes for her)

Men's haircut prces have become absolutely ridiculous. It ranges anywhere from $15 and up. My hair takes only 5 mnutes, and isn't worth 5 dollars.

I have tried budget cuts on california and I haven't been back since, I had a very hard time understanding the stylists along with getting a shorter then wanted haircut.

I love love love Amie or Anna from Mastercuts at Southcenter, it's a walk in appointment place. All the girls are good there and they do excellent jobs. Amie, Anna and I can't remember the other girls name but they really listen and show you what it will look similar too before they cut it.

  8. Try Julie at B Salon, across California from the under-construction Admiral Safeway. She's given me good cuts in the past, and she's also the one who does my 'tween's hair! (I can't remember how much the adult cut is--not enough coffee yet--but I know it's reasonable. Kids' cuts are $10.)

  10. VB -- think Budget cuts runs a big ad/special in the West Seattle Community Shopper if you can get your hands on one... would probably even honor it if you mention it without the physical coupon in hand.

  11. A man, I have been going to Asne at Hairmasters in Westwood Village for several years. Very satisfied.

    $17 plus tip

I have had my hair cut by Tram several times, and I have a few family members that see her as well. All of us have nothing but great things to say about her!

  13. Ann at Le Salon Rouge; $20 for women's cut, $17 for men's cut. I've been going to her for years.

Thanks for all the recommendations! Glad to hear there are so many options for reasonably-priced good haircuts in our neighborhood. I'll get my now very uneven hair (really, when they say "don't try this at home" they mean it...) straightened up!
