Reasons I am happy today...

I know this does not technically have anything to do with West Seattle - but I live in West Seattle so I hope this counts...and I want to share.

    Reasons I am happy today:

    - It rained.

    - I finally got a rock tumbler from my parents, it only took them 29 years.

    - Did I mention I am going to be 29? My husband laughs at me, but I am feeling old - it is the oldest i have ever been in my life.

    - A wonderful stranger told me I was pretty today, just when I needed a pick-me-up.

    - I finally shed old relics from a previous relationship.

    - My wonderful, beloved 16 year old cat (my only child) is still alive. Although I know everyday is up for grabs.

    - My grandfather, who was dying last year only due to a lack of wanting to live made a goal to be driving again in a year and is walking.

    - My mother, whose liver was shutting down a month ago, has been to a dietitian, and is doing better.

    - My father is finally doing something about his heart condition.

    - My little sister is so smart and is doing wonderful in college and is on her way to becoming an RN.

    - And it rained today, I stood in the rain for about 15 minutes, just to soak it up, this summer has been a killer.

Thanks for making me smile. My dad had a rock tumbler when I was little and it was great! Let us know if you make way, way too many shiny rocks and need some taken off your hands. And happy birthday!

I loved my rock tumbler ca. 1977 - so yeah, I'm going to be 29 too ;)

Glad it was such a great day!

wouldn't it be nice if all of life could be subjected to a rock tumbler...

it doesn't alter the integrity or individuality of the rock... in fact, it focuses your attention on each rock's personality.

Armed with a rock tumbler, who knows what you can make of the next 29 years:)

and still.. you will be younger than i am now ;-0
