Recently I have had two experiences that make me rave about West Seattle Produce: 1) I needed some chard for a soup and WSP was the next to the last stop. They had none on the shelf, so I asked and they confirmed they had no more. When I went to check out the girl behind the register asked if red chard would do? I said yes, and she got her backpack out and brought out a last bunch of slightly bruised chard and said she was going to take it home, but I could get the chard I needed.
2) I asked one of the managers what I could add to make some Lox goat cheese apps better. He suggested capers and thinly-sliced red onion. So I went to get a small red onion and he handed me a bruised larger one and said it was on the house because I am a good customer...Sweet.
Lastly they have good prices and they try hard to get you what you need. Tony's has good prices but is 2 miles or so away. The selection at WSP is top notch and they care about produce. So I give them two thumbs up.
