Rave: West Seattle lactation consultant Arika Dortero

    Just want to send a rave/recommendation for the services of Arika Dortero who is a West Seattle lactation consultant. She is super communicative and she makes home visits. Breastfeeding is so stressful in the beginning and you need all the support you can muster. I also recommend a great workshop with a lactation nurse on Wednesdays in Ballard every Wed. at Swedish ($10) but if you need personal immediate help I really recommend Arika. She is patient and kind, not judgmental, and soothing. I really believe she is a lifesaver. I wish I had contacted her sooner when my first baby was born because I had a lot of questions the first week esp. about weight gain. Even now when I have a problem, she is the first person I will contact. She continues to support me and answer my questions. A huge plus is that Arika is also a ND so she will give you some naturopathic treatment recommendations if you need them.
