    Hi all:

I just wanted to post a shout-out for The Bridge -the new bar that has taken over the building where the Redline used to be (just south of KFC on 35th). The owners have done a great job rehauling the building for a bar with a nice, comfortable, laid-back feel. And the food is incredible!! This is not your run-of-the-mill bar food - bacon wrapped dates, drunken ahi tuna, bacon wrapped tenderloin, chicken caprese sliders, just to name a few things. I've been there several times and have not been disappointed with anything I've ordered. So definitely check it out if you get the chance. Just be warned, they don't have a sign up yet so it doesn't necessarily look open but it is open at 4pm every day!

  2. I will second this rave! Everyone who works there is awesome, the space is gorgeous and the food is AMAZING. The Drunken Ahi is SO GOOD. We've been 3 times now!

Had dinner there tonight for the first time. Everything we had was great, including the service.

Went for happy hour there tonight. The Bridge was participating in West Seattle for Japan, so this was our opportunity to try it out. Our waitress Sara was nice, helpful, well-informed and willing to give an opinion when asked. The food was tasty, an adult take on bar food. The happy hour menu had a nice selection for good prices. We really liked the Cheddar Chips - a different take on nachos, featuring housemade potato chips and housesmoked cheddar cheese. Yum!

With the Beveridge closed tonight, I had to find somewhere to watch the Stanley Cup playoffs and have a couple beers. The Bridge came through, and I'll be back. Decent tap selection, friendly bartender, and willing to change to the channel so that hockey-deprived Seattle could watch the playoffs from afar.

  6. We've checked it out and the food (loved the burger), as well as the service, was excellent! They even gave us some delicious dessert (creme brulee with fruit) to share (how nice, right?) and it was wonderful! We will definitely be back again and again!

  7. We have been to the Bridge several times and are plowing our way through the appetizer menu. We love each and every thing we've had there and the beer selection is very good. Can't wait to sit outside on their deck this summer!

We were there on Saturday night. It was fine up until 9:00 PM, when the DJ started. WAY too loud for conversation, and it doesn't seem to be a dance place. We did ask the waitress if the music could be turned down. She said she'd pass on the message, but that nothing could be done until the DJ took a break. Was there once before for drinks after work and really enjoyed it that time. Go, but get out before the music gets cranked up....

  10. A friend and i ended up at the bridge on Sunday because we couldn't get parking where we wanted to go.

We lucked out. We not only stumbled into incredible food, we stumbled in during happy hour.

The food there wasn't just good..
every single choice we made was incredible.

The bacon wrapped figs are everything said about them and more.
Ditto the caprese salad with huge slices of tomato that tasted like tomato.
The fish and chips alternative was a well cooked piece of innovatively breaded fish and huge slices of potato.
And the special of the day turned out to be something that looked like a mini croissant stuffed with potato and shredded beef in what might have been a chipotle bbq sauce...served in a martini glass:)
    incredible.

It's seldom that you dine somewhere.. and yes i would call this alfresco experience dining.. that the blend of the incredients is so much more than the individual notes.

maybe we were more lucky than i thought and somehow avoided the pedestrian items on the menu.. but i don't think so.
there is a talented chef behind this menu.

We sat outside and weren't troubled by either the noise or the dogs.

If you are looking for a novel food experience..
you really should try this place out.

  11. JoB, we were there at the same time and we were outside, too! I think you sat at the first table, yes? We had the steak bites (yummy pieces of steak wrapped in bacon) and salads. We are plowing our way through their menu and everything we've had has been tasty! Love that vodka tartar sauce with the fish and chips, too. Now I'm hungry. Is it bad form to go to the same place two nights in a row? :)

  12. Have been meaning to try this place since it opened, and tonight was the night.

Food was fresh and tasty (love the house fries).

    Good on tap beer selection.

Our waitress was just the right mix of helpful.

    We'll be back.

My only rant is that I waited so long to try this place!

Drinks and service were great; decor and vibe 250% better than Red Line.

Food was all excellent. The BLT Sliders were the best BLT I've ever had (super soft bun, perfectly crisp bacon). We must've been on a bacon binge as we also had the bacon wrapped Steak Bites and the bacon wrapped dates (unexpectedly amazing, except prior comment might've given us a hint). The sauce on the buffalo chicken bites was just about perfection - appreciated that the chicken was not battered nor fried.

The fries and onion crisps were yummy too.

    A+ rating!!
