  1. Hey, all you knitters, lapsed knitters, and knitters-to-be. I just visited Seattle Yarn in West Seattle for the first time. What a great place! Gorgeous selection of yarns, plus everything you need for knitting and crocheting something special for yourself, a gift, or a baby--or maybe a doggie sweater. Classes, too! Virginia - I believe she is the owner - was so helpful and patient, too (I am a bit of a klutz with knitting). Yes, Santa Claus, there is a Virginia!

The team at Seattle Yarn is so helpful! From simple projects to design ideas and classes - Lia has been especially helpful to me. Mad skills and a little crazy, just the right mentor for me!

Someone there has had a hand in every sock I've ever knitted, because no matter how many I do, I still can't turn a heel. There are many warm feet thanks to Virginia and crew!

  5. Even if you don't knit, a stroll through the store might convert you. Oh, and guys: Men knitting can be rather sexy, especially if you knit a scarf for your sweetie or a toy for your kid.

  6. Indeed, Sonoma, I went there for a project unrelated to knitting (but for which I needed yarn) and found myself contemplating learning how. Hmmmm...

They are really great people. Also, I agree--men who knit are sexy.

I would also like to mention they have felting supplies which is great if you are looking to do a project with your kids (fun for adults too of course).
