omg...I'd forgotten how amazing and authentic the pupusa's are, as well as the amazing array of dessert. Bakery N may have the breads, but The Salvadorian Bakery has everything else. And dinner was AMAZING. drooooooooool.

It's the tamales that do it for us. Unlike a traditional Mexican Tamale that has a rough corn texture these ones are like silk. Pork Tamales, Revuelta Papusa (with extra cabbage) and the chicken soup-and yes followed by a Tres De Leches.

It is one of my favorite places. They have muffins they call quesadillas that are basically corn and cream cheese. Their apricot sugar cookies are addictive. The chicken soup is the best in town.

What? No mention yet of their Flan? How can that be?

they are open today
and
they are all that and more.the counter service bothers some .. you order and pay up front and they bring out your food...
but it keeps the prices down..
and this is one of those places where it really is about the food.Posted 2 years ago # -
I've driven by this place more times than I can count, but never had a chance to stop in and check it out for myself. After reading this thread last night, I decided I had to pay them a visit today. We had two wiggly kids in tow, so we didn't sit down and have lunch (based on the delicious smells and menu, we will certainly return) but we did walk out of there with a box and sack full of a variety of their baked goods. Haven't sampled many yet, but I'd agree with the recommendation for the apricot-filled cookies and am eyeing the tres leches cake and carrot cake in the fridge, which will be a post-dinner treat to share with the rest of the household.
Thanks for the little reminder to give this establishment a try!

The baked good are fantastic! I went there for breakfast a couple years back. I won't do that again. I'm not kidding when I say 1/2 the plate was covered in sour cream. Now, I like sour cream but half a plate of it? No, thanks. I still go for baked goods though.

Not into sweets but their lunches are really, really good.
Be prepared to wait a while though.

Another W. Seattle/Wh. Center treasure.

Bragging a bit, but so what, I make a great QUATRES leches cake, with a dulce de leche frosting. I'm thinking about making it with chocolate milk next time I do it.

Bragging is good! I bet there would be some feverish bidding at a fund raising auction for a cake like that.
