   Yes, Proletariat Pizza really is that stark space nestled between tattoo parlors and pawn shops in White Center with the big black letters above the awning... if you roll down the windows.. your nose will overcome any concerns about the neighborhood and guide you to a parking space out front. It's that good.

   It's right across the street from Full Tilt ice cream which would seem like a lucky coincidence unless you sample the only desert option at Proletariat pizza.. homemade tiramisu...

   At proletariat pizza, it really is all about the pizza.. thin crusts with sauce that takes a starring role...

   I walked in because the name intrigued.. we will be back because of the pizza...

   but be forewarned.. you might want to ask for a take out box up front. two of us left 3 huge pieces on the plate...

   Job,

   Any idea on how their menu was? How was the pricing? I went to their site and it didn't have any relative information other than "We're Open!" My wife and I eye-balled from Full Tilt last night and are interested.

   Slices are $2 most expensive pie is $18. Very low prices. We have a menu at Full Tilt if you want to check it out. I have to say my fave pie has been the "ham and Eggs". Prosciutto with five cracked eggs backed on top of the pie.

   we had a pizza split half and half and were surprised to find ourselves only charged for one full pizza.. not two halves.
   We did Hawaiian with spam and pepperoni.
   both were excellent.

   Full Tilt..

   i nearly had the ham and eggs.. will next time:)

   Definitely the best pizza I've had in Seattle. Very fair pricing. Amazing sauce. Very unique. I only had a slice but wanted to go back to buy a full pie.

   Only problem with the place is the echo. There were only 8 or so people inside, and I couldn't hear anything the employees were asking me.

   Good pizza, bad acoustics.

    we too went over there last night (thurs) at 5-ish, to get a pie. I understand that the owner is still working a full time job AND running a pizza joint. So hopefully he will get staffed soon. I want to try them out.

    the acoustics are a problem and hubby said it fails the first test of pizza joints.. menu and pie plate on the wall.

    We had a great time visualizing pie plates with portraits of Che and Emma .. similar to the vinyl portraits on the wall at Full Tilt :)

    They have just opened. I remember how loud the Beveridge Place Pub was when they moved into their new location with the bare walls..

    If i were an aspiring artist.. i would approach them about the possibility of a gallery wall.

    I like the idea of impromptu art galleries taking over White Center and a venue for those without a voice is certainly in keeping with their motto...

    by the people.. for the people...

    i just had my leftover piece of Hawaiian for lunch and it stands up as well cold as it did piping hot.

    we went last night and the service was shite. seriously. both owners and a waitress and we still had to wait 30 minutes for a slice of cheese pizza for a very hungry little girl. I never got my pizza, because it was delivered to another table where it sat, being breathed on by strangers - then the clueless waitress tried to give it to me. I told her to cancel it. the owners have their 2 year old running around which can't possibly be productive for them. I will say the salad I had was pretty good. Other than that, I will give it some time before I go back - maybe they can figure out their service issues.

    We were there last night and thought it was great. Mike, one of the owners sat down and talk to us for a bit (well mainly my husband about cycling). The pizza was excellent, best crust have had yet in Seattle. We thought the environment was great and everything was very well priced. We had lots of leftovers to bring home. We will definitely be returning again soon!

    Mmmm! We went last night and it was TASTY! Great crust and just the right amount of cheese & toppings. They even brought our squirmy almost-2 year-old a plate of olives and pineapple and some dough to play with while she waited. NICE!

    House-made thin-crust and lightly sauced with a distintively different kind of house-made sauce which I really think made the slice of pepperoni I had.

    As for the tiramisu...espresso-soaked lady fingers in a serving begin enough to be shared.

    The owners, who I admit are my neighbors, have purchased and will be installing, this week, massive pizza ovens to replace the already too small oven. What that means is more pizza cooked up to order with less wait. The very capable owners are on it on all fronts; just bear in mind both have
    other jobs and have only been open for a few hours per day for a week.

    So stand by as they tweak everything.

    Everyone knows that nuking is NOT the best way to reheat pizza, right? Unless you like the crust all rubbery.

    The best way is to reheat it in a frying pan with a lid on medium heat on the stove. Takes 5 minutes and is worth the wait.

    Those of us without microwaves. Some pizza is actually better reheated IMO (Pagliacci, for example - the crust is crispier) than 1st time around.
