  1. Came home last night to water in the basement. Found it was backing up from the toilet seal when laundry was run. Called O'Neil, who did some line work a couple of years ago. This morning they were out first thing with a camera. They saw something, sent a truck with a clean out thing (Whatever!, he was there within half an hour. He cleaned and reran the camera, while explaining to me what he was doing and letting me watch the camera. While he was working, the boss guy came out to check what was happening. End result - it all works again.

The best part? I DID NOT have to argue about it. They DID NOT tell me it was my fault, they were supper nice and explained everything and they charged an EXTREMELY reasonable fee for all the work!!

I really expected the "Well you see little lady. . . " speech. Never did get it!!

    Yay for great customer service!

  2. I second karen's yay for O'Neill. Had a good experience with them several years back, when I needed to get a crumbling sewer line replaced.

They were clean, on time, courteous, and professional in every way. It didn't hurt that they were the lowest of three bids either . . .

Finding a good plumber is like finding a good mechanic. One thing you're paying for is the service. The other thing is the security of knowing that you're not going to get sold something you don't need.

So another yay for customer service.
    And one for honesty, too.

  3. I had a great experience with O'Neill, too. Service was wonderful and effective. The plumber they sent was very courteous. Since I am broke, the costs were a little hard to swallow. Since they charge a 1/2 hourly rate, I worried about the total charges the entire time he was at work. Not saying it isn't worth the cost, but not knowing how much a project is going to cost until the work is complete was a concern. With that said, I would highly recommend and call them in a pinch.

O'Neill is definitely my go-to for plumbing emergencies, such as when my outside [rusted] faucet fell off the day after Thanksgiving. Extremely prompt. I was so relieved to find out they don't consider the day after Thankgiving a holiday so it was regular rates vs holiday rates especially as the repair took quite awhile.

For non-emergencies I definitely shop around -- I have used Joe the Plumber Seattle for snaking (great guy!!), and Fairway Plumbing when I replumbed the house 4-5 years ago; Fairway (not a WS company) works solely in PEX and doesn't appear to advertise anywhere, he came recommended by a friend's realtor and I have been completely happy with the work they did.
