My partner and i just moved into the Altamira apartments above the New QFC at the beginning of the month. Great place by the way... but today i was home sick and heard a knock on the door...and there was the general manager of the QFC with a welcome to the building gift basket. That's class people. Thank you Jeff Brown, you will always have my business.

  6. isn't it funny..
doing business the classy way turns out to be really good business.
it's too bad more store managers don't learn that.

I live at Altamira, too and also got the welcome basket. I have never had a bad experience at that QFC. Everyone who works there is super sweet and helpful and after awhile, they all remember you. It's a great store!!

  8. wow..I have never heard of this. That is awesome.

  9. What's really amazing to me is that they don't really *have* to do it - I mean, if you live at Altamira, the chances are very high that you would've just taken the elevator down to the supermarket in your building without being enticed to do so. So the fact that they made the effort to be so welcoming is even more impressive.

Agreed! And the store in general manages to provide really good, human, customer service without being overly hyper; makes it nice to shop there.

I wish I knew her name but the "cheese lady" there is fantastic! Just ask for recommendations. You won't be disappointed!

StringCheese, agreed on the cheese lady. Also love that you, in particular, like the cheese lady. It's kinda right there, lol.

QFC is awesome. As much as I loved going to the Junction Safeway, until recently that is, the QFC provided a great alternative. The selection of products is HUGE and the prices aren't much different. The cheese lady rocks ! Always friendly, always ready to sample out more than you can eat, and always great at recommending stuff. I just hope that as the majority of "new stores" their service, cleanliness and good attitude don't wilt and die after they've been around for a while.

We love the "cheese lady" too. We actually call her the "cheese pimp" because we buy whatever she's selling. :o)

Surprised you didn't get the same kind of welcome from Staples.
    Oh, wait....
