   Since they are a new sponsor I thought I'd once again give a shout out for their awesome Brunch. Open seating, excellent service, good prices, great food and french press coffee!

   Had family in from Ohio last week. Figuring Luna Park would be too crowded/difficult to park we thought we'd give Charlestown Cafe a shot for breakfast. Never been but had heard good things. What a mistake.

   Parking was great, but tables had to be pushed together since they only have 2 large size tables. Food was mediocre, service was spotty and we had to literally YELL to hear each other - basically a Denny's with a bad layout. Not the experience I wanted with two elderly people.

   Wish we'd gone to Ama Ama....

   I have to second this rave. Ama Ama's brunch is the BEST. The Bacon Bloody Mary was really fantastic, the food was great and the servers were accommodating for our large, last minute crowd. Oh, and the coffee, served in a French Press, is wonderful. It's my new favorite brunch spot in Seattle....sorry Skylark.

   Speaking of which - when are we doing brunch again? You all know who you are!

   The Strata @ Ama Ama is literally to die for! I highly recommend it.

   I must agree, friendly accomodating service at both brunch and dinner. Great atmosphere for those Lounge Lizards of the 21st Century.

   I had a Hornito...don't ask me what was in it but Wow, was it good.

   Definitely the best brunch in WS (now that Black Bird is closed). I love everything about the place. Please don't let it go the way of Ama Ama! Support local businesses - this one is definitely worth it!!

   RainyDay, I have to laugh a little at your review of Charlestown... because the only time I find myself at Charlestown is on a rainy day, for a bowl of clam chowder (which is actually really good there). And the only people I ever see in there are elderly. The local senior set seems to love that place.

   Not a dig at you or your review, just an observation about your comments that made me chuckle. :)

   Zenguy...I thought you were saying that you WERE a Hornito... had to look twice - lol...

   I will third and fourth the raves about Ama Ama. Daughter reserved the upstairs room for her BF's birthday celebration the evneing before T-Day. It was exceptional...Food was glorious, sliders, grilled muscles, fruits and cheeses and olives that didn't quit..homemade chips, and an extremely interesting dip...and, yes, there were raves about the french press from some of the guests...and the smoky martinis were excellent.

   Brunch? just say the word, folks :)

   okay, Jan, I am NOT the grammar police, but if you're going to guarantee that I get to see grilled (tanned?) muscles at Ama Ama, I'm there!!!...lurv me a yummy bowl of mussels too ;)

    I am very surprised to hear so many people rave about Ama ama, I would have thought for sure the spotty food and terrible service would have been enough to show us west seattle folk the light...not to mention the new ''gastro-pub'' cuisine. I say blah blah.

    "Gastro-pub" cuisine? Just because the dude worked at Quinn's (which is awesome by the way) doesn't mean he's turned the Oyster bar into Quinn's West Seattle. If only we could get someone to open a Quinn's over here.

    And I've been there numerous times and always had excellent service. That's just weird if you've been more than once and not found the service good.
