Huge rave for the woman who risked all potential road rage wrath to stop and a retrieve a dog running on Admiral Way this evening around 4:30. Despite having two kids on their way to soccer practice and a dog of her own in the vehicle, she stopped to leash this unknown pet.
I slowed and put on hazard lights but was not in a lane allowing me to stop and help immediately. Drivers behind honked, perhaps not knowing that a dog was headed, in the road, eastbound on Admiral in traffic. She stopped anyway and kept this dog from harm.
I came back around and was able to hold the dog so this exceptional woman could get to practice, and the dog's owner was fantastically responsive to a call about her runaway.
It was an honor to see people doing the right thing on both ends of what could have gone very badly for one delightful dog.
