So I'm driving home from work and see a guy picking up a Mike Heavey political sign up (off Thistle). I thought that was kind of unusual so it made me look closer and it was Mike Heavey driving the car! I never imagined in my life I would see a candidate collecting his own signs after an election. I am very impressed and had to share it.

I noticed that all the Mike Heavey signs were gone from Admiral Way and was gonna comment on that earlier. He wasn't my favored candidate, but I must say, picking up his own signs the day after the race is really a class act, as you say, me. Lots of Rossi and Diana Toledo signs still up!!!

I've got some mailers Mike can have if he wants.
Shred 'em up; they make great compost.
I kid, I kid !!

Is it Carson that has (understandably) complained about politicians, and politician wannabees, illegally placing their campaign sign on the Public Right-of Way, and saying he won't vote for those that do so?
Carson, didja vote for Heavey? ;-)

It appears to me that many campaigns are doing a better job this year of cleaning up after themselves.
A notable exception is the Yes on 1107. Perhaps this is because it was a campaign paid for by out-of-state corporations (Coca-Cola, et al), who don't really care about local communities enough to keep paying their lackeys to clean up after the campaign.
Oh--do I sound bitter?

I voted for Mike! Funny, he was one of the few who responded to my rant about illegal signs.

Julie, just today I noticed a big old Yes on 1107 banner, at least 3' x 4', hanging from a chain link fence not far from where I work. One of those professionally made ones that costs $$.
With as much funding as they threw at that thing, you'd think its backers could afford to clean up after themselves.

They probably just expect the City to foot the bill, and provide the staffing to clean-up the signs/banners.

But the people have spoken, there is no money for such services, let alone feeding the hungry, etc...don't get me started

well, at least the "no on I-1098" people were courteous enough to remove the "yes on I-1098" yard signs from faulteroy way...
a day before the election.
who says we're not civil?

DP brings up an interesting point... Are the election signs compostable or recyclable?
I haven't seen any up close so I don't know what they're made of.
If they are only good for filling up a garbage bin maybe we should set Tim Eyman on getting an initiative going for requiring the use of compostable/recyclable election signs! ;-)Posted 1 year ago # -
Eyman doesn't do anything unless he gets paid. There is no money in that, so don't expect Timmy's support.

Heh, and I have a hunch Timmy's more of the type that would have friends in the non-recyclable/compostable sign material making business, than in the recycle/compost business!
