The Rant posting that has been up for awhile didn't properly reflect the recent hard work they are doing to show they care. Thought it was time to let people hear some positive.

I have been going there religously for the past 3 months (great deal on membership - prepaid). I too have noticed a moldy type smell from the men's showers, but can report that the past couple days I've seen the crew really paying attention to these areas. I really like the fact that all the equipment works, the people are friendly, and they seem to listen to any feedback - good or bad. Thanks All-Star.

  2. Thank you for this!

I love All Star. It's an incredible facility stocked with everything I could ever need for a great workout, the pool is awesome, the classes kick my sissy butt, the price is reasonable given the 15 month deal, etc. Beyonce might say "haters to the left".

  3. I also like All Star Fitness. I have belonged to the West Seattle facility since 2002 and before that I belonged to the (now defunct) lower Q Anne facility. I am a frequent user-I went about 5 days a week prior to the birth of my child last year and now I go about 2 times per week. Even though my needs have changed over the past few years, All Star remains a good fit for me.

I have always enjoyed All Star and their facility/classes. I think it is a great place to work out no matter what you are interested in. I have renewed several times without incident and kept the same price since I joined the W. Sea club. I have brought in many guests and seen many friends come and go. I have used the childcare since my daughter was 3 months old and enjoyed the baby swim class they have on the weekends. They recently began a Parent's Night Out Program which is great.

I had an experience last week where I locked my purse and keys in the car and the person at the front desk was extremely kind and helpful. I was pretty stressed that day and I appreciated their kindness very much.

I have been to many other gyms including the Y, 24 Hour Fitness, Seattle Athletic Club, Olympic and I think All Star compares quite favorably. I did not think these other establishments were cleaner than All Star on the few occasions I was there. The locker room at All Star is definitely dirtier during peak times such as after work but I have noticed cleaning staff trying to take care of the showers during the heavy usage.

I enjoy the option of the women's only room, the offering of classes throughout the day and weekend, and fact that you can do your own thing without anyone hassling you. My only "wish" would be additional classes such as pre-natal yoga (tons of pregnant women there all the time), or other mom and tot classes.

I also am a fan. I hit Maximum Sculpt and Yoga I a few times a week, plus lots of cardio time. The equipment is in good condition for the amount of usage it gets. I like the front desk staff and most of the teachers. For awhile, I also used Andre West as a personal trainer and really enjoyed working with him.

The Y is the most dirtiest place I've been in.

  6. If you are looking for a nice, clean club, that gives personal attention and education to its members, check out the Anytime Fitness on California and Charlestown.
