I have been a lurker on the WSB until now, but I wanted to join and rave about my acupuncturist/herbalist Cristina Lang on California Ave.

I recently underwent traumatic orthopedic surgery and was unable to walk for many weeks. Cristina's post-injury/post-op acupuncture has really made the difference in my recovery and I can't thank her enough! She really knows how to find the chui (sp?), which I haven't always found with other acupuncturists. Without her, the alternative is a lifetime of pain pills and that's just not a good option for me.

Ok, I admit I don't always like drinking the herbal tinctures that she makes, but they do make a huge difference as well. She even helped my elderly mom with her insomnia issues by giving her some herbal drops to take.

If anyone is interested, please contact her at wellness_therapy@yahoo.com. I really can't say enough about her services - I hope people in this community will support her business.

Thanks, I am actually looking for some help with sciatica. I'll check her out. How is her pricing?

Ellen - I think she has a sliding scale. My insurance pays for mine, so all I have is a co-pay. Her number is 206-719-2784. She definitely helps with sciatica!

  4. While I'm not familiar with this practitioner, I have to give a big rave for acupuncture in general for post-surgical help. I had knee surgery two years ago and my acupuncturist/naturopath came to my house every day for a week after surgery - it helped immensely with reducing the pain, inflammation and edema and I never once bruised from the surgery!

No but I could see it helping in a holistic way. I wouldn't be surprised if there were appetite suppression points though.

Accpuncture does indeed help with weight loss and addresses the "stress triggers" that can cause stress/over eating. She can probably help with a combination of accupuncture and herbs.
