So, (he's going to hate me for this, but he doesn't live in WS so he shouldn't be reading it, mwahahaha) when it came time for my father to leave Wildwood B&B, he discovered that only moments before he had locked his keys in his car. Mad props AGAIN to AAA because this is the third time my father has done this in the last year, and they continue to show up “within the hour.” No quotes necessary because they always show up way sooner than that. He only has one more call of this type this year before they start charging him, but AAA always seems to be pretty good natured about the whole fiasco. I think it’s funny because it’s a ’98 Civic, and the darn thing has been broken into illegally 4 times in its lifetime. It has actually been stolen twice, one time for several months. It finally appeared on the police scanners and was returned, but not before its passenger side window shade had been conspicuously tagged. So, of course, the ironic part is after all that, the legal owners can’t break into it even once to retrieve the keys. *smile* My father and stepmother still drive it around with the graffiti on the shade. It’s pretty awesome.

That sounds like my family's '91 Camry. Stolen (and recovered) twice, broken into multiple times during its days in Seattle. My Dad refuses to sell it and we just laugh that he prefers to drive that around instead of his nicer car. His new strategy is to leave the car unlocked with the Club on the steering wheel...no locking your keys in the car that way!

I love AAA because they'll come out no matter whether you, the member, are the one to have locked the keys in. I women I'd never seen before had keys locked in her work van last week - stuck out in the rain at the grocery store. I called AAA and went in to do my shopping. They arrived right as I finished up. They checked my card, popped the lock, and she was able to get back to work. Yea AAA!

I'd like to add to this rave thread. My boyfriend works dispatch for AAA. They work hard making sure people in distressing situations are helped out as soon as possible, and they sure do appreciate kind customers like Mirabile. So yeah, rave for the folks who will be working through the holidays to provide this service for drivers in Washington, and rave for nice members!
...and don't forget you get 10% off at Target through AAA.com/target. That's my favorite perk.
