Does anyone know what time the rapture is going to occur on Saturday? Just trying to plan ahead. Nothing like fire and brimstone to ruin an outing.

7 p.m. Saturday -- in every time zone.

I am not sure what time, but the dude that parks his car in front of our condo announcing it will mean one more parking place. I just hope all the people planning on the big Alki 'Car Free' event realize that the event will need to be cancelled due to the end of the world.
If I offended anyone, I apologize in advance, but I have lived through a few end of the world scenarios.Posted 1 year ago # -
Noooo -- his car will still be there; he just won't.

darn it...I have to work. Is there any way to re-schedule it? Who do I speak with?
Also, will this be a zombie event? I need to make sure I have the Zombie Killing Machine fired up.

this is news to me...

I thought it started at 6pm somewhere in the world then followed the sun around for 24 hours. But what do I know? Does anyone need someone to watch their soon-to-be human-less pet? I hear it's a pretty lucrative business. I'll do it for half the price. :)

Oh great! Rapture on prom night?? How am I supposed to enforce curfew now? ; )
Posted 1 year ago # -
OK, so it looks like it have most of the day available. now, what to wear.....
Posted 1 year ago # -
For those planning to leave, please leave your valuables in plain sight, safes open, keys in ignition, deeds, etc., signed and ready for the unwashed.
I need a pick-up truck, probably ought to head southeast and kick a few tires.Posted 1 year ago # -
For those of us guaranteed to be left behind by the rapture, any post-rapture events going on this weekend?
Posted 1 year ago # -
While I am certain I will Left Behind, I am counting on the confusion caused by the event to distract my friends and family from an upcoming unpleasant milestone marking the 18,250th day since my birth. I am not opposed to the milestone, just the ribbing as I have plenty of older friends and relatives.

As one of my co-workers noted, the earthquakes are timed to start on the International Date line and go west from there. We should have a pretty good clue by Friday midnight if the Rapture is/isn't happening. This being a town with plenty of non-religious people or agnostics, it might be difficult to know if the Rapture has occurred...maybe the neighbors just took a long vacation to Hawaii?Posted 1 year ago # -
me on 28th Ave SW -- ummmm ... I believe rapture has been happening on prom night for a good 50 or 60 years, it's just that parents don't want to believe it is happening.
Let's see ... if it starts at the ID and goes west, it will get to D.C. before it gets here ... that should be interesting. It will also get to TX first ... wonder which direction Dubyah will go ...
Oh, wait, this is Daylight Savings Time ... do we spring ahead of the other rapturees or fall behind into the fiery pit?

JayDee, Happy birthday in advance. It is a great milestone, I think I remember my passing of the day. I am one who believes in Content of Character, and living ethically, and not necessarily supporting a particular church, is the way to live.
I am deeply disturbed however by B-Squared's post, it brought up huge issue in my life.
The best I can do right now is to iron my best "Old Guys Rule" t-shirt, or have a "Polo" dress shirt pressed at the dry cleaners, with not much in between.
What do you wear to a rapture?Posted 1 year ago # -
Do we need to be outside or can we just be inside and leave the chimney flue open (kind of a reverse Santa)? Will I be pulled through the roof? I'm thinking some heavy duty Carharts might reduce splinters. Can we bring a camera? How about an IPad? Is there WiFi or will I need to get the 3G package? Will there be much walking involved - should I bring boots or slippers? Oh wait, I'll be left behind. Dang. guess I better plan on s'mores. . . . .

Will they have Mogen David in heaven, sweet Jesus? If they don't, then who the hell wants to go?
Posted 1 year ago # -
Chrisma, Thank you for that post. The midnight choir starts to sing, and now, I have to dig out my guitar and remember how to play the song.
My apologize to Larry G, I am a hack.Posted 1 year ago # -
I have lots of popcorn and chips. Would serving kool-aid be in bad taste?

Saturday is the anniversary of my birth. In anticipation of the end of the world, I intend to have cake Friday - just in case. However, since the actual BDay is on Saturday, I will have cake (if I'm still here). Also, on Sunday I intend to have cake - to celebrate being around to celebrate.

So glad. Couldn't comment on Facebook page due to the Mars Hill contingent of the family. Eeek! Well, can't wait for the event. Helps make that decision re buying a new car on Friday. The payments would have killed me. Do you think this might stall the Tunnel Project? or will the tunnel drill itself...straight down to, well, you know.

jay dee: did you count all of the february 29th's since your birth, too? you might be older than you think...
richwseattle: are there any parties?! dude, the parties that occur after the "good" christians leave will make pre-rapture parties look like a day at chuck e. cheese. we've been waiting patiently - for decades - to roll out the sex/booze/drug cannon.

So, if you're still around on the 22nd and thought you'd be gone on the 21st, will you think you did something wrong and were left behind? Or will you think you calcuated the date wrong and start recalcuating to find the correct date? Or will you just be embarrassed because you bought into another one of the many doomsday, end of the world-as-we-know-it scenarios that pop up every other year or so? And darn it, I thought 2012 was the prevailing thought on an end-of-the-world type of scenario. All of this just makes planning impossible!!
Posted 1 year ago # -
I know, TDe.... i was all set for 2012. Having the date moved up really is an inconvenience.
As far as attire, i'm with 2 Much Whine with the carharts, definitely, and i've got some sensible shoes picked out - need to be able to get around after the massive earthquakes. And i have a nice paisley shirt that is festive without being garish. wish i had a hard hat though, what with the brimstone and all. Do you think there will still be wifi?Posted 1 year ago # -
Redblack: Dang! Using Excel = 18,262 days, not 18,250.
2 Much Whine: Going up the chimney like they do in Harry Potter--"Apparate?" If any Rapturee wants to borrow my carhartts in return for house keys, let me know.

metrognome: rapture at prom? LALALALALLALALALA!! (hands over ears) ; )
Actually, that would have made an AWESOME prom theme!Posted 1 year ago # -
yes.. it would.
Posted 1 year ago # -
When the rapture happens you leave all worldly things behind. Those of you that plan on going will be nude...should be quite the show..
Will there be anyone left to run for president after Saturday? This event could really change things for the 2012 election.Every one both sides always professes to be a christian. They'll all be gone!Them and most of congress and the house and senate.
This looks better all the time!!Posted 1 year ago # -
Wondering if we should leave an automatic "Out of Office" reply on our email just in case?
Posted 1 year ago # -
There's going to be a lot of dissapointed human beings today.
Posted 1 year ago # -
my son suggested we raid our closets and trail bits of clothing down the street.. sort of like a yarn bomb but not....
if that idea strikes your fancy just remember to go pick them back up later so they can be cleaned and donated:)

I think the only thing that went to heaven today was the Family Radio website.
Posted 1 year ago # -

Jiggers: You still have an hour and twenty according to my computer...
Posted 1 year ago # -
Everyone I know is still around. Did the rapture not happen or are all my friends heathens?
Posted 1 year ago # -
has the rapture come and gone?
I've been napping.Posted 1 year ago # -
well, it already hasn't happened in every other time zone, so I think we're cool.
Off to do a sauna.
Posted 1 year ago # -
I guess it all depends on your perspective. I caught a halibut today. I am pretty sure he was just hanging out munching on some snacks when suddenly he felt himself being drawn upward. He left behind all his worldly posessions as he was pulled into the sky, nude, toward a warm bright light. Unfortunately his faith will not help him as he will soon be seared with fire and brimstone (and lemon, shallots and capers) and devoured by an ugly beast the likes of which he had never seen. RIP my dear halibut friend. Pass the lemons.

Sounds rapturous, 2mw!
Posted 1 year ago # -
Dang. No looting. :-(
Posted 1 year ago # -
I think we are about out of 6:00 PM time zones (this was supposed to be a rolling rapture) with Hawaii being the last to go.
I wonder too about the space shuttle and what time zone they would "go" by. Maybe the rapture batteries were low and only those in space were taken cuz they were closer.Posted 1 year ago # -
Gee, that's weird.
Rapture's over. I'm looking out the window.
And Heaven seems a lot like . . .
a lot like . . .
White Center.
Or did I get in the wrong line again?
Posted 1 year ago # -
just checking in. i'm still here.
not that there was ever any doubt that i would be...
Posted 1 year ago # -
hubby tells me that were some rather ugly consequences .. a woman who slashed her daughters throats and her own.. luckily they didn't die
and people who gave away their assets... to Harold Campingcon men are con men even when they wear a preacher's clothing.
Harold Camping has a lot to answer for.Posted 1 year ago # -
I'm surprised that some people believed strongly in Camping's date, since he had the same rapture prediction back in 1994. I'm sure he'll pick another date before too long, and another group of folks will follow his 'preachings' about rapture. Too bad.
Not intending to thread-jack, but 2012 is not a religous end-of-world. It's not about rapture, and there aren't any ways to be "saved" from that 2012 event. It's just plain over for everyone and everything.
