  1. Scary. Don\'t use. After no longer doing our yard, I am considering restraining order, AND faithfully using our home security system.

    Please be cautious.

The subject of the OP is welcome to post a contrary view. I\'m sure someone has alerted him. There is obviously passion and emotion involved -- unless it is a hoax, in which case I\'m even more sure it will be rebutted. Sorry, ZG--I just find automatic \"not fair\" responses to complaints about business a bit, um, unfair :-)

  5. I just think it unfair to say \"scary, don\'t use\" without any context. I find postings like these highly suspect.

  6. I know I\'m curious as to why it\'s \"scary\". I searched for a website, didn\'t find any. The high points of the story would be nice. A rant usually tells what went wrong....doesn\'t it?

Right now the big white Porter\'s Landscape truck is parked around the block from my house! Should I be worried?

is it an old 70\'s-ish Chevy truck with a smashed in left fender?

  9. Is anyone surprised that the original post has never been updated? This is why I am dubious of this type of post.

I have never posted anything on a blog before; this is fairly new to me. If we are speaking about the same company, they have done work for my family for a long time. I have known the family my entire life; they are also neighbors. Reliable, wonderful work. Thanks Zenguy for pursuing a response. Very grateful to you.

  11. I had posted in the other thread and asked the question of whether the police were called about the alleged things that happened, but she never replied. If a service provider did something \"scary\" enough to require me to use a home security system and think about a restraining order, then it would be a good idea to call the police to report them, don\'t you think?

I also think it was weird to have 2 threads - one that started with \"rant\" and the other one with \"customer satisfaction\" and yet they still said a similar \"rant-like\" thing.

  12. Exactly Sue, seems more like a smear campaign. If there is truth here I think we all want to know about it, but the lack of substance is large.

  13. Here I am responding. I am new to blogging - actually that was my first blog, ever. I think I messed up when I posted it twice when I didn\'t see it appear my first try.

Honestly I don\'t want to get into a smear campaign with this guy or his business. He did some weird stuff with us. I\'m not sure what his deal was...

My neighbors were even concerned about him before the weirdness started. I just thought he had OCD about lawn care - which could be an okay thing I thought. Then he raised out rates after two weeks, and stopped doing our lawn care after another two weeks. I had never/have never met him in person.

I never signed a contract with him - and I held off on paying the bill seven days past his ten day turn around time, which warranted three calls to my work place and a very threatening letter to my home. We\'re speaking of less than $100.00.

After I told a couple people about the incident, they said that they felt I had an obligation tell people about my experience.

I\'m not going to mention anymore - I just was intending to send out a generic warning to people and didn\'t want to get into the nitty gritty, that seems to be so craved. I don\'t feel that I need to by any means defend my actions nor my opinion.

  14. No...I suppose you don\'t have to give details..but then we have no way to know why you\'re complaining. Yard work is not easy work and there are a lot of people who do it who are probably just scraping by. Perhaps you just needed to pay him on time. Maybe 100 bucks seems paltry to you, but maybe, just maybe it means a lot to him and his family. Just a thought.

Hope it\'s been worked out now. Thanks for letting us know what it was about.

I know this guy personally and he is an upstanding guy who would not cause a problem for anyone. He runs an honest business and is incredibly hard working. From previous entries it sounds like this was an issue over payment and if you were not paid on time I have no doubt you would have pursued the issue as well. It seems highly unfair to discredit a business when it sounds like you may be partially to blame. I hope this will not effect his business or personal reputation. He really is an honest be nice guy!!
