I've actually posted a 'rave' for this same place in the past... but today I popped in and asked for 'just a trim'. I got just that... I walked in the shop at 4:07 and when I checked the time as I walked on to the sidewalk it was 4:19.

I had no shampoo, no fluff & dry... no product put in my hair aside from water to wet it... and was in the shop for 12 minutes...

    $27.00! :|

Yeah... I paid and left a $3 tip ... but I suppose if price was a factor, I should have asked before sitting in the chair... Next time I will ...

  2. what a shame...next time go down the street to Tram @ Budget cuts...haircut is 13.95...plus tip. You won't get a shampoo there unless you pay for it, but product and drying aren't extra..

    thanks Jan...

I will.. lesson learned! It just really bites when we're trying to pinch pennies... Like stepping over a dollar... to pick up a dime :|

Oh... and in all fairness... I told her I didn't need the shampoo/dry/product as I was headed for a workout as soon as I left. I'm sure the 27 would have covered all of that... jeeze... I hope it would have...

Tran at Budget Cuts ROCKS! She's the only person I've gone back to more than once! Another lady there did a trim for me too and I was not dissappointed.

  6. Lisa, did you talk to management about this? That's our rules for a business rant.

JoB -- did you mean you stopped going to WSBarber?

The very fussy bob goes there and is very very happy.

I still go to Illusions (wsb sponsor) -- under the motto that less (often) is more (better) and worth it. IE, it ain't cheap but, to me, it's definitely worth it. What are a few grey roots between friends?

My husband goes to Westside Barber and always gets a great cut, which is difficult because his hair is wavy-curly. He went to other places before WS and it seemed like the only thing they knew to do with his texture was cut it super short all over; the people at WS Barber know how to work with his texture and give it as much style as a short men's cut can have.

    Hi lowmanbeach,

I was not aware of the forum rule. But I will indeed contact the manager to express my disappointment... not in the service given but the amount charged for the quantity of service. I will post here when/if I get a response.

I just wanted to do a quick follow up here and let you know that I did call the shop and ask to speak to the manager. The person I spoke to told me she would pass on a message for me. I gave her my name & number and said the nature of my call was to ask about 'pricing policy' for cuts. I have not received a response from the manager, but certainly will let you know when/if I do!
