   Yes, velo_nut, I agree many of us complain too much. After seeing yet another bike rider run a stop light at the Alaska Junction this morning, I whined to my brother. He and I were just beginning a road trip, BY CAR, to Mt. Rainier.

   We pretty much agreed that we would TRY to limit our whining during our daily walks. That way, we could "walk off" our agitation.

    I agree! I am really upset on several counts.

    What I can't stand is all those rafters clogging up the Duwamish River on some Wednesday evenings. You can't get through with your yacht. They are slow to move out of the way and then they complain about your wake. Do they think they own the river or what? C'mon people!

    And while I'm on the topic, my neighbor is raising his roof and the new rafters have already destroyed my view of the alley behind Safeway. How'd he get a permit for that anyway? And what happened to the Public Notice sign? Does he even care what his neighbors think?

    (Pssssttttt, Roseanne... The thread is ranters, not rafters.)

    Well, as a natural glass-half-full person, ranting beats raving. I yam what I yam.

    My favorite Python rant is: "What have the Romans ever done for us?"

    When I find myself ranting, the internal monologue often sounds to me like Andy Rooney: "Don't you hate it when..." So sometimes that's enough to stop me from ranting. Also, it is amazing Andy is still alive--the life-prolonging powers of ranting. So bicycle away Velo-Nut -- I will prolong my life by judicious ranting.
