if i could.. i might join those on the mall in Washington DC on October 30 just to see what Stewart and Colbert could get up to...
but beyond the humor.. this idea intrigues me. a rally or meet up or get together designed to foster feeling good about being part of a community that talks to one another.. instead of fights.
For me.. this sense of community and ability for a broad range of people to discuss ideas has been the forum's largest draw.
There is a rally to restore sanity Seattle event happening at Westlake that has already secured 2000+ participants... and i could attend that.
but i long for something local...
"just like a chat room only live"
is this a good idea for a forum members meet-up?
should we invite West Seattle or just forum members?
How do people feel about Alki?
any ideas about a good space there?
should this include some way to donate to our local food bank?
Should we include politics?
How much fun can we have with this?
Right now i am just playing around with the idea... it has been rattling around in there since Jon Stewart announced his DC rally...
i am thinking mid afternoon on saturday..
after lunch and before dinner
maybe a couple of hours long...
if this idea resonates with you i would be more than happy to spend my limited energy helping to make this happen.
What do you think?
