  1. This is going to be a little longwinded. bare with me. work with nature. they are looking for a water source. if you can provide a bucket or something of that \"nature\" put out there for them. get the cheapest bag of cat or dog food out there. put on your outer lining property. you can put the water out there for them too. i deal with this all time with my feral cats. now here is the \"crazy\" part. out loud ask the racoons to please use the bucket of water and food you provided. i would even put some of the plant stuff you have in your water areas. make it very clear you want to work together. i know these animals are a nuisance to most. but they are here and so are we. we are taking SO much away from them and it has been dry. they are just thirsty. it make take a bit for them to figure it out. this seems to work with most people i tell this too. hope this helps

Here here! We have already taken away so much from these little guys - they are just trying to live a life, just like us.

I keep a small ground-level bird bath filled with fresh water for a momma raccoon and the little \"pup\" she has that visit my yard each night - it seems they appreciate it, they left me a gift of dead rat the other day!

  3. Is this a response to the post on the home page? If so, it would be helpful if you crosspost to the comment thread there, as the person who e-mailed us about it may not see this - thanks, TR
