  1. Does anyone know where I can get my blades sharpened on my push mower? Thanks!

I take my push mower to McLendon Hardware to have the reel sharpened. They also sharpen my garden shears.

  3. Be aware though, unless things have changed recently, McLendon's sends that kind of stuff out.

IIRC, the items to be sharpened go out on Tuesday, and I believe it's usually a one week turn around, coming back the following Tues.

So, be sure to allow for that when planning to get your mower sharpened.

Give 'em a call (206) 762-4090 and ask for the Tool Dept!

I've taken mine to the mower shop on 99, right by Greenlake...don't remember the name, but I know there's a coupon for them to do reel mower sharpening in the Chinook Book if you have one. Also, even when the shop is backed up with power mowers, they can turn your reel mower around pretty quickly. Last time I went, they told me I could pick it up in two days, when they had just told the person ahead of me in line (who was dropping off his power mower) that it would take two weeks!

You could try Southwest Saws & Mowers. When I had a push mower I had the blades sharpened there. It's on 1st Ave S by SW 108th on the way to Burien.

  8. Herongrrl - I've searched through my Chinoook Book and no coupon. What number is it? Do you remember the name of the place yet?

It's called Aurora Lawnmower. And my apologies, it does seem they didn't put a coupon in the Chinook Book this year after all! They have the past three years so I assumed they'd do it again this year. Bummer, I haven't taken my mower in yet and was looking forward to getting the discount.
