Prowlers casing my "hood " ?

  1. A little back story here to start.

I usually am up around 130-2 am most days and am very vigilant when it comes to my area and my neighbors.

Well for the last 4 nights around 330 am there has been a late 90's early 2000's red station wagon that has been driving back and forth down my street ( 26th ave sw ) 4600- 5200 block at about 6 mph and stopping periodically next to parked vehicles obviously casing potential targets.

Just this morning around the same time frame, the aforementioned vehicle arrived on my street and proceeded to stop directly in front of my fence and case a vehicle parked on the street, unbeknownst to these loser's I was standing in my front yard watching their every move, when one of them proceed to get out of their vehicle and walk to within 5 feet of me all the while not even noticing me ( even though I was awash in bright LED street light )and began to look through a parked vehicle at which time said " cretin " looked up and saw me and instantly was stricken with complete awe and befuddlement probably wondering what the hell I was doing in my front yard at 330 am?

Upon noticing me he stood completely still as if that " move " somehow enabled an invisibility cloak from which I would no longer be able to see him, well it didn't work and I continued to glare at him at which point he uttered the following words.... " hey what's up dude " I said " not much DUDE " but if you don't back away from my neighbor's car and get back into your vehicle of which I NOW have your License plate #, make, model and color not to mention a PERFECT description of you and your " partner " I will call the cops and make sure you never enter this neighborhood under any circumstances again. Well this obviously lit a fire under his ass as he walked very briskly back to the vehicle he and his brain dead partner arrived in and left the area FAST.

So in summation, If anyone in the aforementioned area has also seen this vehicle over the last 4 nights at the time listed please respond here.

Thanks and know that this neighbor of yours is looking out for the " Hood " :)

My silver 4 door car was broken into last night, and a suitcase belonging to my houseguest was in it. I live off Othello & Fauntleroy. The suitcase was pink & black. Please contact me if you know anything about this. No questions asked, reward offered.

  4. Thanks for the info AND for callying them out! My mom lives on 26th, I let her know and she'll likely pass it along to her immediate neighbors. Hopefully your message was heard loud and clear and they'll move on...though I'd preffer not to my street!

if you have the identifying information you say you have, you should call the police non-emergency number (or the local precinct) and report the incident.

I live in 4700 block of 26th, so thanks for your vigilence. However, next time you see something like this, PLEASE call 911. The police department has requested, over and over again, that we call in suspicious behavior. The fact that you had good description and license plate numbers makes the call very useful. Even if they're not able to get somebody out immediately, they use those stats to determine patrol emphasis in the future.

It seems to me that confronting two strangers in the dark is very dangerous.

Quick shout out to WSB; over and over again in the crime watch and blotter stories they reiterate to call 911 for anything suspicious - even if you're not sure it's an "emergency."

Reading this is why I felt comfortable calling 911 last summer when I noticed people I didn't recognize loading a pick up truck next to an open "PODS" storage unit sitting outside a neighbor home. I knew what the neighbors looked like (and they weren't the ones filling the truck) and that they were doing construction - but didn't know their names of if the people doing the truck loading could have been related to them.

Because it was pre-dawn, and the situation just seemed a little "off" to me, I called 911; the people in the truck saw me stop walking and make the call - and immediately took off. Police came in less than 10 minutes and it turns out that the POD had been broken into and a few items of little value were stolen, but we scared them off before they could get more.

If it looks weird - call 911.

  9. Two things

    1. I have given the info to SPD.

    2. I did NOT under any circumstances actually confront these two numb skulls, I was already in my front yard taking in the night air when they showed up and confronted me.

As of this original posting, they have not returned.
