giglsmithParticipantHello West Seattle people,
We are looking for a good daycare for our daughter who is 18 months old. We are looking for a place that does 2-3 days a week and is safe and reliable. Please only respond if you are an actual parent using the daycare, because I want first hand experience/advice :)
Thanks for your time.

WSConvertMemberWe have our son in the toddler program at Europakids at their Burien campus and are really happy with the program! Definitely worth exploring as an option. We started out two days (from 12 mos – 24 mos) and have just increased to add a third day.

giglsmithParticipantHello WSConvert. Thanks for the reply. Is there a reason you chose Burien campus over the West Seattle one? Just curious which language immersion did you choose? :)

desertdwellerParticipantOur daughter has been at the Fauntleroy Children’s Center since she was an infant. It’s great!

LindseyParticipantMy 18-month old has been at Ages in Stages for about seven months now. I’m satisfied, not thrilled. I’d certainly be willing to talk more if that’s a daycare you were considering. We were looking for part-time care, like you, and that can be hard to find. Part time there is three days a week, no more and no less. We pay $65/day.

giglsmithParticipantI will definitely check them both out.
We have made a few appointments already, so being a first time parent it’s great to have good old WSB to reach out to some other local parents for feedback. Thanks WSB and everyone who has responded so far. . .

tttParticipantI thought Fauntleroy was fine for older kids (4, 5), but I didn’t like it for our 2 year old.
I HIGHLY recommend the inter generational learning center at Mount st. Vincent. They can be difficult to get into, but definitely worth getting on the wait list. They exceeded our expectations. Our son is so happy there!

guidosmomMemberMy almost 14 month old has been at Alki Beach Academy since they opened. We are happy. We were at Ages and Stages previously. It was not a good match for us.

pocketzenaParticipantI had two children in the Mount St Vincent Intergenerational program. It is worth the wait list. The teachers there are very loving, and nurturing, and it is 100 percent safe and reliable for working parents. Goes all way to Pre-K. Teachers for most part were super solid, with various skills and backgrounds, but they all take great care of kids. Plus you can choose 2-3 days a week, for ALL day, if that is what you need, as long as it fits in with the other families they are accommodating.

WSConvertMemberHi Giglsmith — we chose Burien for logistical reasons. The West Seattle campus is a half-day program (I believe 9 am – 12 noon), but the Burien campus offers a full day program (7 am – 6 pm). We were looking for a full-day option, so that pretty much eliminated the west seattle campus for us.
We have our son in the spanish/mandarin immersion, but would be equally happy in the spanish/german classes. Our son has picked up both “second” languages well, which has been fascinating to see.

giglsmithParticipantWSConvert, thanks for the reply! We have some new choices so thanks everyone again.

Lcd9880ParticipantMy almost 21 month old has been at Alki Beach Academy for 3 months and we have been really pleased. She goes 2-3 days a week. She had a nanny before but has transitioned seamlessly with daycare.

giglsmithParticipantTo the parents that mentioned Alki beach academy. When I look them up the address shows up on Andover behind delridge? I’m going to call and confirm but do they have an outdoor play area as the location looked industrial? I assumed by the name they were down off alki beach 😊
Thanks to all!

guidosmomMemberYes, that is their location. They have an incredible rain or shine outdoor play area.
