PibalParticipantHad a note on my door from City Light today that said I will be without power on Friday, Dec 5 from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM. I’m in California/Holden vicinity. Unable to reach City Light for more details.
Anyone else also receive such a note? Thanks…

JanSParticipantdid they say why?

PibalParticipantNope. Not a word. And my voicemail has gone unanswered thus far. If I hear anything, I’ll post it.

JeannieParticipantAlthough I didn’t receive the notice and I don’t think I’m in the affected area, here’s what I found buried in City Light’s website:
http://www.seattle.gov/light/aboutus/construction/release.asp?RN=140
Remember, while there are a lot of great, hardworking people at City Light, their boss is Jorge Carrasco, he of the donated wire scam, the massive pay raise demand, and other embarrassments.

PibalParticipantThanks Jeannie. My area is about 3/4 mile south of Morgan Junction so I am not sure the link you provided is the same project. However, I see that there also have been no project updates on City Light’s website since late October.
The mystery continues…

PibalParticipantCity Light called today. They are replacing a telephone pole in the area and that’s the reason for the outage.

WSBKeymasterGlad you got a reply! I sent an inquiry to the media rep this morning and after the entire day went by, I just got the reply “probably related to a pole replacement but I should have some information tomorrow.” It’s *not* the Morgan Junction project that is on the website. In reality, City Light puts very little info on its website about work it’s doing … I keep thinking there has to be a better way, like the city map that, however clunkily, tracks where snowplows and de-icers have gone…

WSBKeymasterFinally a detailed reply moments ago:
“City Light will be doing 2 pole transfers on Friday, Dec 5, 2014 between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Both of these pole transfers border California Ave SW. One pole project is on SW Holden; the other pole project is on SW Ida. Crews will need to take a temporary power outage while doing the work.”

PibalParticipantYou know what’s funny about that? The woman from City Light that called me yesterday called me back today. She said she needed to reply to a West Seattle Blog inquiry and had no info on the job. She asked me if I still had the card that was left on my door with the “Unit #” and “Crew #” on it. I had to dig it out of the recycle bin. Only then did she have enough info so she could look it up and reply to you. I am not making this up!
How ’bout them apples?
