Please take down your Yard/Garage Sale signs

  1. To my west Seattle neighbors who advertise your yard/garage sales on the poles of our community, PLEASE be so kind as to remove them when your event is over.

After a few days of hanging in the sun, breeze/wind (and possible rain) they easily get tattered and then become trash floating around our streets.

PLEASE do the right thing and retrieve them. You know the ones that have your addrss on them so we all know where you live.

There are a number of them in the Admiral district waiting for you...

sbre, I feel your pain. This is a particular gripe of mine, especially as I live on a corner. People are continually tacking up their signs and then leaving them for perpetuity. Are they under the impression that a bankrupt City of Seattle somehow has the funds to send out special cleaning squads to tidy up after the yard sale elite? I don't think so, and honey - I ain't yo' mama.

  3. Yes, please come get the signs from the Community Garage Sale that are rotting on the power poles in the Seaview/Fairmount Springs neighborhoods.

You hang 'em, you come back and take them down.

Second this, but for a different reason. I see a yard sale sign and all the cheap genes in my body activate and I frantically follow the signs hoping there's still good stuff left. I don't like showing up after the party is over.

You can also fix my problem by putting a date on your signs. :-)

EJ, another excellent point. It's so frustrating to follow a promising sign saying "yard sale today" - only to find that "today" was two months ago.
