katrinaMemberHello Community. I need your help! This morning, Saturday, Feb 28th at around 9am, my black and silver miniature schnauzer, Zoey, was attacked by a beige and white pitbull.
Zoey is in surgery now and will be for the rest of the day. The doctors are optimistic that she will be fine. However, they need to know the medical record status of the attacking dog. Is that dog vaccinated, etc.?
If there is anyone that was there and saw this happen, or knows that dog or owner, could you please let me know? I would just like to get the Doctor as much information as possible to ensure the most is being done to help Zoey.
There was a kind man that helped my boyfriend and I this morning collect our second dog, Fredo, while we tended to Zoey – to you I want to say Thank you so much. Everything was a blur at that point and your help was essential. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your help.

miwsParticipantKatrina, this is a great place to post this incident, but to cover more bases, there is a Westcrest Facebook Page that you might want to post on as well (it looks as if you’d have to join first), if you have and FB account.

In any case, healing thoughts to Zoey, and best of luck in getting this resolved.

JanSParticipantwas the owner of this pitbull not around? Or perhaps not speaking up? Or did they come forward to help after the attack?
I’m so sorry this happened. Hope Zoey recovers quickly. I’m not a dog owner…I guess I would just expect any dog owner there to be paying attention to their dog, so this sort of thing doesn’t happen, leash or no leash…

katrinaMemberJanS – The owner was around. My boyfriend and I were in such a state of panic once we saw that Zoey was seriously injured we didn’t think to stop and get his information. We went straight to the vet. It wasn’t until after the vet had asked us about the attacking dog that we realized we let that moment pass. I knew he was there because he was screaming at his dog, but truly, I don’t think I ever even looked at him. My eyes were on the dogs the brief moment it was all happening.
