The Waid Law Office has a Part-Time File Clerk job open immediately in West Seattle. Ideal candidates will be a team player with a positive attitude, professional demeanor and excellent verbal and written skills. This position and schedule is ideal for candidates currently attending college classes.
Education/Training:
A high school diploma or its equivalent is necessary. Most training occurs on the job. Any previous administrative/legal experience or internships not required, but helpful.
Skills:
Working as a file clerk requires strong organization and communication skills. Attention to detail is also important. The chosen applicant will assist attorneys in filing, sorting, and scanning. The applicant should have excellent communication skills, ability to multitask, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Availability:
Office is open 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday – Actual hours flexible (10-20 hours per week)

Duties:
Included that are not limited to:
• Scan documents and determine how and where they should be classified or filed
• Sort or classify information according to guidelines such as content, purpose, user criteria or chronologic, alphabetical, or numerical order
• Add new material to file records and create new records as necessary
• File correspondence, invoices, receipts and other records in according to the filing system used
• Maintain file room logs that track the location of files throughout the office
• Prepare records for off-site storage
