Owl hooting in West Seattle

    For the last 3 evenings (late Feb 2013), we've heard owls calling in the Fairmount Ravine. Here is a link to the type of sounds we're hearing. Seems that a Great Horned Owl is here!! This is the first time in 5 years we've heard this sound.

    Note: Fairmount Ravine is located between Harbor Ave (near Salty's) and West Seattle High School.

    I saw a Great Horned Owl a few years ago in the wild area that is now the Chinese Garden. What a magnificent creature. Thanks for the tip.
