Onion rings available as a side in West Seattle?

Are there any restaurants in West Seattle that feature onion rings as a "side" item with a dinner or sandwich? I don't want to pay $8 for an onion ring appetizer. I just want a few onion rings as a side. I prefer onion rings to fries.

I know Rocksport will allow this for an extra $1.95 (I'm fine with that.) Are there any other places in West Seattle? (BTW - Rocksport has fantastic onion rings.)

  3. Pepperdocks on Alki used to let you choose onion rings instead of fries. Dnn't know if that still applies.

The Admiral Pub gives you the option to choose onion rings as a side. I would highly recommend them along side their Philly!

Elliot Bay Brewery might let you swap sides.

  8. Pepperdocks has the best onion rings, you get three with your fries when you order your charbroiled burger (of which the king bacon cheeseburger is wonderful)or you can substitute them for the fries all together.

Good, good, good. This is just the sort of feedback I was looking for. Admiral Pub and Endolyne Joes are looking good right now...

Elliott Bay has onion rings as a side. Not listed on the regular menu; just on the happy hour menu. But you can get a whole side order any time. And they are great.

  12. Love Pepperdocks but if you substitute rings for fries what will you feed the seagulls?

funny you should say that. feedback lounge has onion rings as a sub/side, and i think they're $3 for 5 or 6 decent-sized rings. (tempura battered, IIRC.) they're great with a half-order of wings. (their wings are top-notch, too.)

Endolyne Joe's and Luna Park will let you substitute, I can't recall if they charge a little extra though.

  15. My husband has tried to get onion rings as a side with a burger in Elliot Bay several times, offering to pay extra for them, but they've always said they can't do that.

Sue... if they can't accomadate a simple request even if you re willing to pay extra for the inconvenience, do not go back there. There are some restaurants here that frankly, I don't understand how they've been in business as long as they have been. Customer service still slacks lot because...frankly,customers don't care.(

Sue: That hasn't been my experience, although I admit I've only done it a few times. I didn't pay attention to how much extra they charged -- whether it was the full price of the bar menu item or not. Maybe one of the managers could say whether there's a policy.

OP here - yeah, I love Elliot Bay, but my experience is you cannot substitute onion rings for fries, even for a couple extra bucks. Thanks all for the responses!
