   This just in. Obama picks old white man for VP. A very controversial decision has been made on the VP slot for the Democrats. People have already come out against such a blatant attempt at the male vote. Hendrick Jones a farmer from Montana said of the pick "How dare he pick a white man just to get the Reagan Democrats to vote for him. That will never work and I am offended at this choice." More on this later.

    Lowmanbeach, word. Sarah Palin and I are the same age. And the only thing that makes me really happy about Sarah Palin's candidacy is that the pundits keep mentioning how YOUNG she is. Woo!

    the largest growing demographic population in American voters is middle aged women.. and we think a fella like Biden with silver in his hair and a real appreciation of women is sexy...

    yup.. the ugly truth is out.. Joe Biden is our sex symbol...

    and that Obama is a really nice boy raised by a mom who went out of her way to make sure her boy turned out well... and still did something substantial in the world. sigh....

    a sex symbol and someone we can mother... what more would still sexy women of a certain age.. and beyond.. want in a presidential ticket?

    ok.. i admit.. i wanted a capable woman.. a lot of us did...

    failing that.. this is not such a bad alternative.

    Thank you, Walfredo! I've been arguing this very point with people who persist(ed) in thinking they were middle-aged well into their 50's and 60's. Maybe we just have to agree that you go from middle-aged to dead (even if you die when you're 100).

    This is one thread that deserved to be jacked. Thank you all for making, at least, my morning.

    60 and 70 year olds now have a quality of life that is comparable to what 40 and 50 year olds had when i was a kid...

    there are some pretty formidable 60 and 70 year olds still strutting their stuff on rock and roll stages.. with kids flocking to see them.

    Amazing! I really never imagined this future:)

    lolol...inside I'm 35, but I get up in the morning and look in the mirror, and usually say "wow, when did that happen?" lol

    Not too long ago a dear friend of mine had a birthday and I asked "now, how old are you today?" She said "38" and I thought, "oh, I'm only a couple of years older than you". Then I remembered it had been five years since I was 40, somehow my brain had just stopped counting.

    For a few years now we have been chasing our 99 year old neighbor off of ladders to trim trees and clean his gutters. My next door neighbor is 75+ and rode the STP a couple of years ago. I did the Adventure boot camp in ws and had a coulple of women over 50 doing it as well. I agree 60 is the new 40, providing your body hasnt let you down prematurely.
