A new resident to NV would like to return home to Texas and says all he would need to make that happen is a one man tent and a pair of bicycle, yes, bicycle saddlebags. He's helped out tremendously in camp in the short time he's been there and is really personable.
    Can anyone help?

  2. I've got a small 1 or 2 person tent that he could have. It hasn't been used in years and I think all the parts and pieces are there.. :)

A tent was donated for the particular resident this afternoon and it's in his hands. Still needs saddlebags tho...
Franci: NV always needs tents so your donation would be welcome.Between JoB and us we'll get it there. Tomorrow is as yet up in the air as far as plans.

Are saddlebags the same as panniers?

We're not familiar with the term. The man said he has made some out of bookbags but they don't hold up. Any bike experts out there?

  7. I thought NV meant Nevada - like in the rest of the country. I was thinking about having someone bring me back some reasonably priced booze.

Unless he wants the experience of a cross-country bike ride, I'll happily buy his one-way ticket on Southwest. The Southwest is where I'd want to be in such a situation, and in several others, too. Leave me your info.

Thanks for your generous offer, but his plan is to travel by bike, no time limits, so this is just sort of a layover on his trek. I'll speak to him about the prospect though, maybe it would appeal to him under the circumstances.

I have a pair of panniers; basically book size.
