  1. Ok, I didn't get many responses for my request for comments about south cluster schools, so how about the north cluster schools? Is anyone willing to share their experiences, good, bad, ugly and beautiful? Thanks.

    Oliver,
My daughter is in 1st grade and has been in Alki Elementary since Kindergarten. Our family absolutely loves it!! It is a small enough school, that the teachers and staff pretty much know all of the children. Plus, the PTA is also really great and raising money for the school. Sorry, I wasn't too sure if you were looking into Elementary schools. I also went to West Seattle High, and it was a fantastic High School with the whole extended class schedule. Really prepares those soon to be college kids.
    Hope this helped a little.

We loved Alki too. Though the principal has changed since then, I know some of the teachers are still there. Glad to hear you are happy Yorkilover. Do they still have kids do morning greetings in a different language each day? The celebration of diversity was great at that school. And can you beat being able to take walking field trips to both the beach and Schmitz Park???

    Hi GenHillOne,
Yes, times have changed....there are no more greetings in other language's, though I would love that!! Walking field trips, yes when she was with Mrs. Coghill who I absolutely was the best Kindergarten teacher!! Now we have Mrs. Nye and I'm thinking she is a little so-so.
