What an amazingly wonderful responses I had to my post when I lost my dear sweet Lucydog. Thank you all so much! I am happy to report that I have a wonderful new companion! The void in my house and heart was just too big for my beta fish to fill. Zoe, a 6 month old rescued mutt came home today and wow, pups are a lot of work!

Thanks again for the kind words WSB'ers!!

I hope Zoe isn't chewing up your arms too much! New puppies are a ton of work, but they eventually calm down and its all worth it. RIP Lucy dog and I'm happy Zoe is here to take care of you now.

  6. Congrats on your addition.
Yes, puppies can be work, but oh, so much reward in return! Several weeks ago when we lost our Akita Koby I posted about Erin Williams, dog walker and trainer, extraordinaire. Contact her with any questions at Kinetica Dog 206-437-7748.

It is rewarding to see them start to understand. So much repetition and patience to get there.

I'd forgotten how much they need a sense they're loved. My formerly wacko terrier puppy now looks at me when he hears a sound, and calms back down when I talk to him in a normal voice about what he's hearing. Amazing. Two months of absolute bedlam and now he's learning.

Good luck with your girl. If she'd like a playdate with a lively dog, please let me know!
