NO ADVERTISEMENTS

  1. This is at the top of Reader Recommendations but needs to be here too as a reminder:

No advertisements. Businesses are welcome to participate in discussions, or to answer bonafide Reader Recommendation Requests, or to post jobs if the business (and the job) is physically based in West Seattle. Otherwise, simply posting an announcement of your business is not an acceptable use of the forum; we would be happy to talk to you about selling you ad space. If you have an event coming up at your business that you think might qualify for the events calendar, please e-mail it to editor@westseattleblog.com for consideration.

Thank you very much for your cooperation -- TR (WSB editor/co-publisher)

  2. Sticky is only used for a message from the administrators. I am deleting the repeated posts because I see the same thing in the forums multiple times. If you send us information about your group we'd be happy to add it to our Events Calendar (maybe there's even a feature article, if anyone would be interested in being interviewed?):

  3. lol - well by posting your comment here in a sticky message you've effectively made it sticky :-)
Maybe we shouldn't be able to comment on the sticky ones...

Persistence is good in some circumstances, but annoying in others.

Keep up the good work TR.

  5. MargL, good point. I'll be deleting that, since it already appears elsewhere and I assume the post'er has read my reply by now.

I don't understand this statement above at all; what does sticky mean?

    I get the No advertisements

  7. Diane, a "sticky" is a term for a post that an administrator formats so that it is perpetually appearing before the other posts - usually it's posts with rules/regulations and/or timely information that needs to be seen. If you click on the "Open Discussion" forum, you can see that this No Advertising thread (and another one) says "sticky" before it. You don't see that if you just click on the Forum, but you see it if you open up the Open Discussion forum list.
